Hi THerE
Living, working, and wandering was a dream turned reality.
We are cora & Tyler 🙂
I know, a blog? Well, it has been highly requested by all 12 of our fans. It’s time to make the people happy.
A few years back, when I was just starting university, and Ty was pushing on his third year, we started traveling semi-regularly in a 4runner, folding down the backseats and car camping on the weekends.
The trips started out local, then longer trips to Michigan, more regularly than not, and we drove back in long sprints… These road trips brought us closer. We experienced new things, saw culture, and enjoyed time with great friends and family. When it was all over, we drove back to Orlando and took an exam or went to work.
Meanwhile, some health issues turned my ”want” and ”longing” for travel and exploration into a need. The conversations around our future turned from getting an apartment somewhere local to finding ways to cure the insatiable itch of the travel bug.
So, when a fellow college student pulled in front of our beloved 4-runner in January 2021, we suddenly had the funds and motivation to pursue our dream of travel and nomadic living. A couple of weeks of research later, we pulled the trigger on a 1986 Vanagon Westfalia.
We took a month or so to figure out some of her quirks, making the trip to visit family in South Florida a great excuse to open her up and test the engine. Our first big trip was in May 2021. We have done a ton of working and wandering since owning our Westy, and we are super excited to be able to share it with you all!
Cora
If you know me, you know I am the least calm person alive. I make lists, I make lists for my lists, and I leave a trail of sticky notes in my trail. If you had asked me 10 years ago where I saw myself now, I would not have said a gluten-free, holistic, granola girl, living and traveling in a forever-project-pop-top-van with her partner. Nonetheless, here I am.
I grew up an army brat and was raised in the definition of small town, Kansas. We had no stop lights and seeing horses in the car stalls at our local sonic was an everyday occurrence. In the summer of 2017, I made the move to to Orlando for better access to medical specialists and to be closer to family.
I knew from the start I wanted to be the first person in my family to graduate from a four-year university. I was inspired by years of encouragement from a long-time teacher and friend, and I found myself enrolling in English curriculum. Contrary to popular belief, I HATE writing. I find joy in editing and massaging content, so I settled into tech com very easily.
Working remotely allows me to find joy in the little things and travel with my love. Life is good 🙂

I was raised in a small town in South Florida. Growing up, I spent my summers surrounded by family lakeside in Michigan. In high school, I knew I wanted to be able to work from anywhere. I started out at UCF in Mechanical Engineering, but failing Calculus 2 made me realize I could have the dream job and remote work in Computer Science without ever touching calc again. I actually enjoyed my programming classes and never looked back.
As far as working on vehicles goes, I got my start on motorcycles. After making a handful of vintage motorcycles road worthy again was able to build up the confidence to work on something like an 80’s german camper van.
I love cora, and I am excited to see where the next few years take us.
